WANDERING THE STREETS OF LONDON

Now that orientation is finally done I have time to explore the beautiful city that I will be living in for the next four months! Today was the first time that I grabbed my oyster card and hopped on the tube and randomly chooses a destination to explore. Tiffany and I choose the Piccadilly Circus stop and we were not disappointed. This particular area of London is very much like NYC- Time Square; there are so many things to see and to do. While I was walking up and down the streets I noticed that this particular area was reminiscent of NYC's theatre district, there were billboards for so many shows! I must add that the architecture in London is amazing. From eye level the buildings may all seem the same but when you look up its a whole other world filled with arches and intricate designs.

As we were walking down the street we noticed the London Eye in the distance so we walked towards it and that was one of the best decisions I made all day. As we got closer we reached a museum, which had guards on foot and on horses, it was pretty awesome to see them up close and personal. As we passed through the little breezeway we saw the London Eye and to the right...Big Ben!!!! Naturally we started walking towards Big Ben and we took loads of pictures. Big Ben is absolutely amazing, he is so tall and the tower is very ornate (a lot of gold on the top). I was too awestruck to check if he actually displayed the correct time but I'm assuming he does!

To make the day even better Tiffany and I stopped at a restaurant right across from Big Ben andordereda beer (cider for me) and fish and chips! The restaurant was called Hall and Woodhouse, I would highly recommend it if you're ever in the area. Hall and Woodhouse has both fabulous food and a fantastic view. While I was eating my fish and chips I was also staring at my man BB (Big Ben), andlet me tell you he is a sight for sore eyes (not that mine were sore).

After lunch it started to rain so Tiffany and I headed back to Nido, I think its safe to say that her and I are becoming very comfortable with the tube system (thank god), we made it back with no problems at all!

Tomorrow.....Windsor Castle!
